Lou Perez is the head writer and executive producer of Webby Award-winning We The Internet TV. Lou oversees all WTI TV productions from start to finish. He works with freelance writers and talent and often appears in front of the camera as himself or a version of himself.
Lou began doing improv and sketch comedy while at NYU. He was part of the comedy group the Hammerkatz, which was the start for careers such as Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex Girlfriend), and Fran Gillespie (SNL). For years, Lou performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in sketch shows with the Hammerkatz and his comedy duo, Greg and Lou. They're probably best known for their sketch "Wolverine's Claws Suck," which currently has over 20 million views on various platforms.
Lou was a writer for Fox Sports' @TheBuzzer; produced The Attendants with the Above Average Network; produced pilots for FOX Digital and MSN Games; and was a comedy producer on TruTV's Impractical Jokers.
Lou hosted the stand-up show "Uncle Lou's Safe Place" for two years in Los Angeles, performed at the Big Pine Comedy Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and co-created the political comedy podcast "Unsafe Space."
In addition to producing videos for WTI TV, Lou is at work on a feature-length comedy with his long-time comedy partner, Greg. Lou has taught creative writing at the City College of New York, "writing the web series" for Writing Pad, and previous comedy writing workshops for the Moving Picture Institute.
